Love, Jess & Alex

How We Met

Nottingham Cellars & Range Life: Part I
After growing up on a vineyard her whole life and studying wine in Italy the summer prior, in the summer of 2017, Jess landed a very fitting position as a tasting room associate at Nottingham Cellars, where on her first day met the man who would later become her husband. It wasn’t until the following year when they reconnected and had their first date at a favorite local restaurant, Range Life. While they didn’t officially start dating until 2018, one could argue their story has origins rooted long before. Did it begin in the winery tasting room? Was it in 2013 when Alex launched his winemaking career working his first official harvest in the Fraser-Howard vineyard? Or was it in 1996, the year Jess was born and the Fraser-Howard family decided to plant a vineyard on their property? Regardless of where it started, it has been clear that they were a perfect match all along.

The Proposal

Covid 19 & Range life: Part II
In late December, Jess, her parents (John & Julie), and I (Alex) had plans to spend the day in Napa. These plans were quickly altered with a second-round of Covid shutdowns, but with those cancellations came an opportunity. Due to our canceled plans, I asked Julie to text Jess about new plans and how we would still celebrate that day with some champagne and takeout from Range Life. The day came and it was time to “pick up our food.” I went in and texted Jess to come in as well… she said no… but upon a little persuasion agreed and moments later walked out back to a patio lit top-to-bottom with string lights, Amber Mark playing in the background, a bottle of white Lambrusco, and 838 days exactly from our very first date and at the very same restaurant I asked Jessica Jaclyn Fraser Howard to be my wife. She said yes, we drank, she cried and we took our food to her parent's house where her family and a small group of our friends were waiting for us, with my family and more friends standing by on zoom (it was Covid after all).
MAID OF HONOR
Met Freshman year at the University of Oregon through our sorority, Delta Gamma. Always ready for an Oregon football gameday. Runs marathons for fun. Most likely to be found soaking up the sun at the nearest beach with a Starbucks in hand.
BEST MAN
Best Friend and fellow USF grad. Met Freshman year on the very first night without even realizing it. Studied abroad together and traveled to various countries with varying states of debauchery. If not being a bad-ass Real Estate Developer, can be found painting, surfing, snowboarding, or traveling.
MATRON OF HONOR
Met in Kindergarten at St. Michael's School and have been best friends for over 20 years. Shares Jess' painful memories of performing in the infamous St. Michael's talent shows throughout our youth (all photos have been burned). Has the most infectious laugh. Fellow whiskey and wine lover.
GROOMSMAN
Met Freshman year in the dorms and became roommates Sophomore through Senior year. Director of the most revolutionary short film USF has ever seen. Has never met a plate of gnocchi or arancini he didn't like.
BRIDESMAID
Met first night of Freshman year at Oregon, ended up in Delta Gamma together, and have been inseparable ever since. Can eat a questionably-large amount of chicken tenders in one sitting. Will be the future president of the United States.
GROOMSMAN
Another 4th floor resident in the USF dorms and roommate off-campus with the Groom. An avid fan of all Philly sports, but he's a good ship. So we don't bust his chops too much about it. Can quote possibly any comedy movie of the past 30 years.
BRIDESMAID
Met Freshman year at Oregon through Delta Gamma and quickly bonded over the beloved, El Super Burrito. Her dream +1 to this wedding would be Jonah Hill preferably from Superbad. Will be your future lawyer.
GROOMSMAN
Older cousin of the Groom. Growing up, lived down the street from each other with a mutual admiration for Batman. Lover of all things bourbon, pizza, and video games. Can be found ready to tear it up to "Shout" on the dance floor.
BRIDESMAID
Younger sister of the groom and fellow DG. Advocate and aficionado of all things Hotdogs and should probably have her own travel show about it (looking at you Netflix). Rosé All Day Co-Founder along with her brother and mom & is the very proud mother to Kenzie, the Cavapoo.
GROOMSMAN
Older brother of the Bride. Arguably the athlete with the most accolades at this wedding. Proud owner of a pair of grillz. Can deliver a speech that will make you want to go out and beat the Soviets during the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics.
BRIDESMAID
Older sister of the Groom. Shares Jess & Alex's affinity for burritos. Cannot say a joke without laughing before the punchline. Can be found hiking, camping, or simply basking in the wilderness.
GROOMSMAN
Oldest brother of the Bride. Fellow Oregon Alum-Go Ducks! Can be found fishing the Trinity with a pole in one hand and glass of Maker's Mark in the other.
